The Onyx Boox Mira and Mira Pro e-ink monitors have been discontinued and are no longer in production. The BOOX website shows that both the 13.3-inch and 25-inch displays have been "Unpurchasable" for the past six months, occasionally appearing with third-party retailers or as refurbished units on the BOOX site.
The Boox Mira series was launched in late 2021, with initial releases in China, North America, and Europe. Boox later updated the product line in mid-2024 with cold/warm frontlight versions and introduced the Mira Pro Color model in April/May 2025.
The Mira series has struggled with high device costs; the 25-inch Mira Pro retails at $1,899.99 and is sold only online, leaving potential customers unsure how it fits into their workflows. Meanwhile, industry leader Dasung has been producing monitors for nearly a decade, with their flagship Paperlike Color Revolutionary (also 25 inches) priced at $1,698, alongside a range of 13.3-inch black-and-white and color e-paper models.
Bigme has been in the monitor market for about four years and currently offers three models. The Bigme B13 is the world's first 13.3-inch color e-paper desktop monitor, using Kaleido 3 technology to provide a papery, glare-free viewing experience suitable for long reading or coding sessions, retailing at $679.99. The Bigme B251 Pro is a larger 25.3-inch color E Ink display that made history with a record-high refresh rate of up to 60 FPS — significantly surpassing the original B251's 24Hz limit — allowing for an LCD-like experience while maintaining eye protection.
