NxtPaper AMOLED

If you opened this article, it's likely because you already know a lot about the TCL P80 Ultra or are specifically interested in its NxtPaper AMOLED display. While that screen is definitely worth a deep dive in the future, today we're sticking to the basics: unboxing the phone to see what's inside.
What's in the box?
Alongside the phone itself, the box includes a braided USB cable and a high-quality protective case. The case features a textured back and precise cutouts for the buttons and ports, making it significantly nicer than standard plastic or rubber alternatives.
The P80 Ultra is available in two configurations: an 8GB/256GB version priced at €550 and an 8GB/512GB version for €600. The €50 price difference reflects the doubling of storage capacity.
The NxtPaper AMOLED display is the star of the show
The most significant feature of this device is the NxtPaper AMOLED display. Without diving into the technical specifications, the name suggests a fusion of NxtPaper's matte, paper-like texture with the deep blacks and vibrant colors of an AMOLED panel. This unique combination is what has attracted so much interest to this model.
Regarding the actual visual experience of the screen, the original article remains somewhat vague. While it notes that the screen looks "promising," it does not provide any detailed analysis of its performance or quality.
Pricing and version selection
In terms of pricing, the TCL P80 Ultra positions itself in the upper-midrange market:
8/256GB: €550
8/512GB: €600
Both versions come with the same high-quality accessories, meaning buyers aren't sacrificing build quality for a lower price point. For users interested in the NxtPaper technology but looking for a budget-friendly option, the 256GB model offers excellent value. Alternatively, those who require more storage space for high-resolution photos or videos should consider the €600 model.
Currently, this review only covers the initial unboxing phase. There is no data yet on the phone's performance, battery life, or the real-world application of the NxtPaper technology. However, the initial impressions of the display and the quality of the included accessories are positive.
