综合外媒 PC Gamer 报道，近期一名使用者 FurinaDeFontaine 在 Reddit 平台发文，称自己使用爱彼迎 Airbnb 订民宿退房后，房主用 AI 生成了一张所谓的“马桶漏水”照片，试图向其勒索 1,700 美元（IT之家注：现汇率约合 11,414 元人民币）“维修费”。
据 FurinaDeFontaine 介绍，涉事房东据称隶属澳大利亚当地规模较大的一家民宿运营公司，在自己退房后，房东随即向其发送了所谓的“马桶漏水”照片，但 FurinaDeFontaine 很快注意到照片存在显著疑点“涉事厕所楼层下面实际上还有一层楼。如果真的有几英寸深的积水，那么下面整层楼理论上都应该浮现显著的进水情况，不符合常理”，因而认为照片很有可能为虚假生成。
之后，FurinaDeFontaine 使用谷歌 Gemini 开展分析，发现照片中存在谷歌 SynthID 数字水印，这代表房东实际上是使用了 Gemini 生成这张虚假照片。
最终，FurinaDeFontaine 联系爱彼迎 Airbnb 官方客服，客服认定房东提出的赔偿要求不符合条件，并对房东账号开展了处罚。
这起事件也再次说明，民众离开民宿 / 酒店前，应当即时拍摄房间、卫生间以及其他容易产生争议的区域，并保存相关视频记录，可以在发生损坏索赔争议时给出更完整的现场证据。同时民众也不应当轻信网络上的各类“照片”，很多照片很有可能已经过 AI 处理，并不代表实际情况。

According to a compilation of foreign media reports by PC Gamer, a user named FurinaDeFontaine recently posted on Reddit saying that after checking out of an Airbnb homestay, the host used AI to generate a so-called 'toilet leak' photo and tried to extort 1,700 dollars (IT Home note: roughly 11,414 yuan at current rates) in 'repair costs'.
According to FurinaDeFontaine, the host in question supposedly belongs to a relatively large local homestay operator in Australia. Right after checkout the host sent the so-called 'toilet leak' photo, but FurinaDeFontaine quickly noticed obvious problems with it: 'the toilet in question actually has another floor below it. Afterwards, FurinaDeFontaine used Google Gemini to analyse the photo and found a Google SynthID digital watermark in it, which means the host actually used Gemini to generate this fake photo.
FurinaDeFontaine ultimately contacted Airbnb official customer service. Support ruled that the host's compensation demand did not meet the conditions, and took disciplinary action against the host's account.
This incident once again shows that before leaving a homestay or hotel, people should photograph the room, bathroom and other dispute-prone areas immediately and keep video records, so as to provide more complete on-site evidence if a damage claim dispute arises. At the same time, people should not blindly trust photos online — many may already have been AI-processed and do not reflect reality.
