但这项计划很快就落空了。雪佛兰 Silverado EV 和 GMC Sierra EV 面世之后，市面反响颇为冷淡。于是在经历多次延期之后，通用汽车做出决定，重新改造奥赖恩总装工厂，转而继续生产内燃机版本的皮卡与 SUV。

与之形成比较的是，消费者颇为认可 Equinox EV 这款跨界 SUV，该车型起售价 34,995 美元（现汇率约合 23.5 万元人民币），另加收 1,800 美元（现汇率约合 12,090 元人民币）送车费，电池续航里程可达 319 英里（513 公里）。

IT Home reported on October 1 that, despite being one of the most popular electric vehicles in the US, General Motors discontinued the Chevrolet Bolt and Bolt EUV to allocate production capacity at the Orion Assembly Plant for full-size electric pickup trucks.
However, this plan quickly failed. Following the lackluster market reception of the Chevrolet Silverado EV and GMC Sierra EV, and after multiple delays, General Motors decided to renovate the Orion Assembly Plant to continue producing internal combustion engine-powered trucks and SUVs.
Amid this series of adjustments, the Bolt was briefly discontinued and then reintroduced with several key improvements, relocating its production base to Kansas. Despite significant R&D efforts, Chevrolet had already confirmed that the post-revival Bolt would be a “limited production vehicle.”
Now, the actual production numbers appear even lower than expected. According to Reuters, the planned output has been reduced by approximately 75%. This means that when the vehicle ceases production in the first quarter of 2027, the total output will likely only reach about 35,000 units.
The report indicates that the company’s original plan was to produce 150,000 units. In hindsight, the revival of the Bolt seems to have been a significant decision error and a waste of resources.
General Motors declined to comment on these production figures but stated, “We will continue to assess market conditions and consumer needs.” Sales of the vehicle are indeed poor; Chevrolet sold only 4,224 Bolt units in the first half of this year, putting it on track for a total of less than 9,500 units for the year.
Here are some basic details about the vehicle: The Bolt has a base price of $27,600 (approximately 185,000 RMB) with a $1,395 delivery fee (approximately 9,370 RMB). It is powered by a 65 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate battery and a motor producing 210 horsepower (157 kW / 213 ps) and 229 Nm of torque, offering a range of up to 262 miles (422 km) on a single charge.
The reasons for the “reborn” Bolt’s failure to match its predecessor’s success are not yet fully understood. The removal of federal electric vehicle tax credits is certainly a key factor. Additionally, the new model looks nearly identical to the old one and lacks a strong market presence, which likely impacted sales.
In contrast, consumers are showing strong interest in the Equinox EV crossover SUV, which starts at $34,995 (approximately 235,000 RMB) plus an $1,800 delivery fee (approximately 12,090 RMB), and boasts a range of 319 miles (513 km).
