IT之家 9 月 15 日消息，华尔街日报昨日（9 月 14 日）发布博文，报道称 OpenAI 公司悄然收购手机影像初创公司 Glass Imaging，预估这笔交易后该公司估值超过 3 亿美元（IT之家注：现汇率约合 20.15 亿元人民币）。
IT之家援引该媒体报道，Glass Imaging 主要从事开发人工智能手机影像工艺，目标是让手机照片达到数码单反相机级别。
该初创公司的核心机型 GlassAI，用基于 RAW 传感器数据训练的相机专用神经网络，取代了传统图像信号处理流程的部分环节。
融资维度，Glass Imaging 去年一轮融资时估值约为 1 亿美元（现汇率约合 6.72 亿元人民币），本次交易的估值超过 3 亿美元（现汇率约合 20.15 亿元人民币）。该公司此前从 Alphabet 风投部门 GV 与 Insight Partners 等投资者处，累计融资约 3,000 万美元（现汇率约合 2.01 亿元人民币）。
背景维度，Glass Imaging 于 2019 年由 Ziv Attar 和 Tom Bishop 创立，两人均为前苹果员工，曾参与苹果相机工艺开发，均曾参与开发人像模式能力。

IT Home reported on September 15 that the Wall Street Journal published a post yesterday (September 14) stating that OpenAI has quietly acquired the mobile imaging startup Glass Imaging. The estimated value of the company after this transaction is over $300 million (approximately 2.015 billion RMB at current exchange rates).
According to the media report cited by IT Home, Glass Imaging is primarily engaged in developing artificial intelligence mobile imaging technologies, aiming to bring mobile photo quality to the level of DSLR cameras.
The startup’s core product, GlassAI, replaces parts of the traditional image signal processing chain with a camera-specific neural network trained on raw sensor data.
In terms of financing, Glass Imaging was valued at approximately $100 million (about 672 million RMB) during a funding round last year. The current transaction values the company at over $300 million (about 2.015 billion RMB). The company has previously raised about $30 million (approximately 201 million RMB) from investors including Alphabet’s venture arm GV and Insight Partners.
Regarding background, Glass Imaging was founded in 2019 by Ziv Attar and Tom Bishop, both former Apple employees who worked on camera technology and contributed to the development of portrait mode.
On the technology path, the founders believe that the quality of smartphone cameras has reached a plateau. Therefore, the company attempts to combine hardware and software to improve imaging quality, with its zoom imaging technology already used in a new smartphone line by the Chinese brand Honor.
In terms of product deployment, OpenAI is collaborating with former Apple chief designer Jony Ive to advance its first AI hardware, and the technologies acquired are expected to be integrated into the new device.
